Southern Nevada Fantasy & Fiction Union (SNAFFU) is the oldest science fiction fan group meeting in Las Vegas.  Our primary focus is literary science fiction, but our group also discusses movies, TV, and related fields.

·         Discussion group: 4th Sundays 2-4PM Clark County Library, 1401 E. Flamingo Rd. (just east of Maryland Pkwy) in Las Vegas.

Vegas Science Fiction Association (VSFA) is a social group for anyone interested in anything related to science fiction.  Although our main focus is media (books, movies, TV series), we welcome everyone: book geeks, movie buffs, serious gamers, comic book fans, etc. 

·         Meetings: 1st Saturdays 11AM-1PM at Dead Poet Books, 937 S. Rainbow Blvd., Las Vegas.  The “after meeting” (aka “let’s-get-some-food”) is wherever those in attendance decide.

Las Vegas Science Fiction and Fantasy Book Club Meetup is for individuals who enjoy science fiction and fantasy novels and want to discuss them.  We can also discuss the latest movies, novels, whatever!

USS R’uustai NX-74918 is a local chapter of Starfleet, the international Star Trek fan association, but we are also a general science fiction and fantasy club including the Klingon Assault Group, Stargate, Battlestar Galactica, and Lost in Space.  We attend conventions together and try to have a group outing at least every month or two.

USS Las Vegas is the Las Vegas chapter of the International Federation of Trekkers (IFT) international Star Trek fan club.  We focus on community involvement, as well as maintaining the ideals set forth by the Late Great Bird of the Galaxy, Gene Roddenberry.  All Las Vegas area Star Trek fans are encouraged to join us.

IKV Kahless Ro is a Las Vegas-based science fiction club.  While not exclusive to Klingon culture, members of Kahless Ro focus on the Klingon virtues of honor.  Kahless Ro is involved in charitable events in the Las Vegas community and sponsors a Feast each year involving camping and many activities for those interested in Klingon culture and costuming.

Neon City Garrison is a local chapter of the 501st Legion, a costuming fan club that celebrates the magic of the Star Wars saga by appearing in the armor of the storm troopers, the soldiers of the Galactic Empire or other characters and by getting involved in local communities.  Members of the 501st Legion participate in blood drives, gather toys for charities, appear at children’s hospitals, volunteer for Lucas film-sponsored events, escort Star Wars celebrities at conventions, help with the release of Star Wars films and products, and generally hang about getting their pictures taken with kids of all ages and putting a smile on their faces.

Southern Nevada Browncoats is a local Firefly/Serenity fan club.

Las Vegas Movie Fans Meetup is for meeting other local movie fans.  We will have at least two movie events a month as well as the option to go out afterwards to discuss the movie and get to know the others in the group.

Las Vegas Movie Goers Meetup specializes in hosting movie events at different theaters across Las Vegas. We will be viewing at least 2 movies per month. We are all about good times, making friends and catching the latest films from Hollywood or the occasional timeless classic.

Nevada Film Alliance (NFA) serves the needs of the many people in Nevada who are working or wish to work in some capacity in the making of motion pictures, both mainstream and underground.  Their websites and talents abound.  NFA connects these resources by being a resource itself, specifically with the goal of promoting cohesion and collaboration in establishing a lucrative film export market based in Nevada.

Desert of Shadows (DoS) is a Live Action Roleplaying (LARP) game in Las Vegas, based on White Wolf’s Vampire: the Requiem game system.  In DoS, you play the part of a Vampire living within White Wolf’s World of Darkness.

Shades of the Rainbow is dedicated to the awakening and becoming of otherkin and vampires (psychic and/or sanguine).  Otherkin are souls who identify as other than human, such as, but not limited to, Goths, faeries (fairies), elves (elfin), werewolves (or other were-animals), dragons, unicorns, mermaids, griffons, nymphs, sprites, pixies, etc.  Science, magick, occult, religion (ancient & new world), UFO’s, legends, and myths… the veil is thin between the realms.  We also discuss energy work, divination, dream/memory recall, astrology, and alike topics of interest to otherkin.

Kingdom of Albion is a local chapter of the Adrian Empire, a non-profit educational organization dedicated to the study and recreation of Western European culture between the years 1066 and 1603.  Our members work to recreate the arts and skills of his era.  We also include other cultures that commonly interacted with the Western Europeans during our time frame.

Barony of Sarkhafn of the Kingdom of Caid is a local chapter of the Society for Creative Anachronism, a non-profit organization that recreates the Middle Ages from the 600s until 1650.  Our Barony boasts many fine warriors, archers, and artisans who can show their skill and latest creations at tournaments.  Fighter practices and classes are scheduled weekly.  If your interest lies in martial arts, costuming, cooking, or any number of other areas, you can find like-minded companions to hang with and share skills.

Kingdom of Coreathea is a historical re-enactment group dedicated to family, friends, and all aspects of historical renaissance life.  As a group for Age of Chivalry: Las Vegas, we are committed to education of speech, weapons, costuming, and personas.  We are equally excited about heraldry, daily life, food, games, music, and art for both adults and children.  Our group welcomes new members who are interested in exploring history and eager to make new friends.

LVBots is a club of robot-building enthusiasts in Las Vegas who enjoy all levels of robotics experimentation.  We focus on autonomous and homebrew robotic development.  Our group hosts semi-annual competitions featuring line-following, sumo, and maze-solving events.  We meet every other week to share our progress, ask for help, and inspire one another.  Our meetings are open to all interested buildings.  Bring your ‘bot and see some of ours!
